Dear Sustainable Management School blog’s readers,

I’m a future student of Sustainable Management School and I am glad to present sustainable project that I’m coordinating at present as a manager – «First Russian Green Fitness Rating». For the first time in the history of Russian fitness centers the problem of theirclient’s health-friendliness and environmental impact will be raised. The author of the rating is EcoBureau GREENS, and the rating is supported by WWF Russia. This project possesses a huge potential to attract public attention, since it concerns issues, which directly influence both the health of fitness center’s visitors and by indirection – at regular attendance. This project has several stages, and we are just right in the middle of the process evaluating and rating Moscow fitness clubs for sustainability: water quality in pools, air quality, water and energy saving, energy efficiency, sustainable use of resources, waste management, eco-friendly detergents using, ecologically responsible purchasing and other criteria. The objective of this project is to arouse interest of people in fitness club safety for environment and health. In the long term green solutions should be considered as a competitive edge on market. We will have our final results by the end of November – the beginning of December and announce them at Moscow International Open Fitness Festival (MIOFF). The information campaign, that will start right after MIOFF event,  is aimed at people who are interested in healthy life style and who take care of their health (campaign’s coverage is more than 2 000 000 people). So I will return to you with our final results and feedback as we will get to the final stage!
