Giusy Cannone, Ph.D, is an investor, innovation strategist, and professor specializing in venture capital, climate technology, sustainability, and startup ecosystem development.
At SUMAS, she teaches advanced courses in sustainability and innovation within the MBA and DBA programs.
Over the course of her distinguished career, Giusy has developed extensive experience in venture capital and innovation management. She works closely with startup accelerators, business angel networks, financial institutions, and international entrepreneurial ecosystems. Her collaborative work spans Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Asia, where she actively contributes to the growth of technology-driven companies across sectors such as climate tech, fashion tech, sustainability, and deep tech innovation.
In addition to her core roles, she is an active lecturer and mentor for innovation and entrepreneurship programs, and she regularly contributes to global discussions on sustainable innovation, emerging technologies, and the future of industrial transformation.
Dr. Cannone’s academic research investigates how and why technology startups expand internationally from the earliest stages of their lifecycle, with a particular focus on “born global” companies.
