Sustainable Development Day on 22 of July in the Summer Campus of the Russian Presidential Academy in Kazan will be held under the motto of the youth contest of the UN Global Compact Russian Network and the Sustainability Management School SUMASImpact of Business. local solutions Of the global problems.

The Summer Campus is the annual international educational project for young people and consists of lectures and interactive activities with the leading Russian and Foreign scientists, government officials and world level business persons. The project is created by the initiative of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The mission of the Campus is to create the necessary environment for young talented people to form a new generation of the intellectual elite. The Program of the Campus includes not only educational but also a broad cultural-entertaining program.  There are sight-seeing of the Capital and excursions of the Republic of Tatarstan as well as various games and creative contests for students.

It has been the second year that the Campus organizes the Sustainable Development Day in partnership with the United Nations Global Compact Russia.

The year 2018 is dedicated to the role of business in the accomplishment of the Sustainable Development Goals. The participants will be studying to model projects to find solutions of global problems and developing business ideas in the interest of sustainable development with a help of experts which will help them to deepen the knowledge and acquire practical skills for a strategic approach towards SDGs.

  • Daria Goncharova (Chief Sustainability Officer Polymetal)
  • Maksim Kochetkov (ESG & SRI expert)

The program will include an expert discussion session which will illustrate the real practice of companies that have declared their commitment, lectures, live talks, questions & answers session in a format of intellectual quiz, team activities quiz-khakaton – project work of the concrete projects which opens the ways for business transformation in order to achieve the SDGs.

The Sustainable Development Day participants would be able to continue their acquittance with the United Nations Global Compact by joining the contest «Impact of Business. Local Solutions to Global Problems» and other initiatives of the Network globally and in Russia.
