The headquarters of SUMAS lies within the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Gland, Switzerland and provides the perfect environment to study sustainability. The state-of-the-art complex sets a benchmark in sustainable construction is certified MINERGIE ECO-P and aims at the highest level of US LEED certification. The IUCN building includes a cafeteria, outdoor atrium, an outdoor terrace, as well as a beautiful natural garden where students can experience the natural beauty of local flora and fauna just outside their classroom door.

SUMAS Learning & Accommodation Campus (SLC)

SUMAS new learning campus, located directly across SUMAS Green Research Centre & Offices, includes brand new on-campus accommodation for students, state of the art new lecture and seminar classrooms, gym facilities and a nifty sandwicherie where students can enjoy a quick bite before or after lectures. Students and lecturers also have access to a reception, café area as well as various common areas where they are able to socialize and exchange ideas over a cup of coffee or tea.

The cafeteria of the campus is open from 07:00 – 15:00 from Monday to Friday. It serves a variety of hot, cold and vegetarian meals including snacks and drinks.

It is SUMAS ’s policy to encourage the use of bicycles for short trips. A Velopass bike station for 7 bikes is installed in front of SUMAS building. Velopass is an interconnected system of bike stations available 24/7. Students can rent a bike from a particular station and return it either to the station where they rented it or to another one.
