Everything you need to know before choosing your program.

What programs does SUMAS offer?

SUMAS offers 21 programs across five academic levels: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Arts in Management (MAM), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), and the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS). All programs specialise in sustainability management, with tracks in sustainable fashion, hospitality, finance, and general sustainability. Most programs are available both on-campus and fully online.

Are SUMAS programs available online?

Yes. SUMAS offers fully online, instructor-led versions of all MAM and MBA programs. Online students receive exactly the same degree as on-campus students. Livestreaming and hybrid formats are also available, allowing students to combine online learning with occasional on-campus sessions in Switzerland or Italy.

What are the entry requirements for SUMAS programs?

BBA programs require a high school diploma or equivalent. Graduate programs (MAM, MBA) require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. The DBA requires a Master's degree and significant professional experience. All applicants whose first language is not English must provide IELTS 6.0+, TOEFL 80+ (IBT), or Duolingo 110+. A CV, motivation letter, and certified transcripts are required for all programs.

Is SUMAS accredited?

SUMAS is ACBSP-accredited (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs), one of the leading international business school accreditations. The school also holds PSR (Partner for Sustainable Responsibility) recognition and is an affiliate of the UN Global Compact and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Programs are recognised by Swiss federal education authorities.

How long does an MBA at SUMAS take?

The SUMAS MBA is designed to be completed in 12 months full-time, structured over 6 terms of 10 weeks each. Multiple start dates throughout the year (January, February, April, July, September, October) provide flexibility. Part-time options are available through the online and livestreaming formats.

Can I study at SUMAS while working full-time?

Yes. The online and livestreaming formats are specifically designed for working professionals. Many SUMAS students continue working throughout their MBA or MAM. Coursework is structured around weekly tasks and scheduled sessions that can be completed outside office hours. The DBA is delivered entirely online and is tailored to senior executives.

Where are SUMAS campuses located?

SUMAS has two campuses: the main campus in Gland (Lake Geneva region), Switzerland, and a second campus in Milan, Italy. Both campuses offer the full program experience. The Swiss campus sits near the shores of Lake Geneva, surrounded by international organisations including WHO, WEF, and IUCN — a unique environment for sustainability education.
