OVERLAND PARK, KS, USA (March 7, 2017) — The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) www.acbsp.org Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners has awarded Sustainability Management School, www.sumas.ch, in Gland, Switzerland, accreditation of its business programs.

Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs. ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the business programs and degrees offered by SUMAS meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.

Based on the Baldridge Education Criteria for Performance Excellence, ACBSP accreditation evaluates aspects of leadership, strategic planning, relationships with stakeholders, quality of academic programs, faculty credentials, and educational support to determine whether or not the business programs offers a rigorous educational experience and demonstrate continuous quality improvement.

“Sustainability Management School has shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process,” said ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer Dr. Steve Parscale, who will present the Certificate of Accreditation at ACBSP Conference 2017 in Anaheim, California, USA, on June 26. “This accreditation is evidence that SUMAS is committed to providing the highest quality business education for their students.”

“SUMAS is filling an important gap that exists today in business schools. There is a divide between business management education and scientific knowledge for sustainable development. We need leaders who are able to integrate economic growth with sustainable development. This starts from their education. The traditional approach is not enough. The leaders of the future have to find creative solutions to complex issues.” Ivana Modena President & Academic Director
