Why ACBSP rather than a research-weighted accreditation?

SUMAS was founded in 2012 by Dr. Ivana Modena, who directed the school toward specialised international business accreditation rather than the research-weighted public higher-education frameworks available in Switzerland and Italy. ACBSP measures what a sustainability management degree is actually chosen for — teaching quality, measured learning outcomes and graduate results — and it obliges the school to publish them.

What that obliges SUMAS to publish

Job placement rate across accredited programs: 88.9% (2022), 88.2% (2023), 93.8% (2024) and 83.9% (2025), against a self-set target of 90%. The years below target are published too — that is precisely what an outcome-based accreditation requires.
