ACCREDITATION COUNCIL FOR BUSINESS SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMS (ACBSP)

SUMAS was granted full accreditation in 2016 by ACBSP, the leading specialized accreditation association for business education supporting, celebrating, and rewarding teaching excellence. ACBSP is officially recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The association embraces the virtues of teaching excellence and emphasizes to students that it is essential to learn how to learn. The ACBSP accreditation covers business programs from approximately 2’400 higher education institutions internationally and encourages faculty involvement within the contemporary business world to enhance the quality of classroom instruction and to contribute to student learning.

SWISS PRIVATE SCHOOL REGISTER

The Foundation Board of the “Swiss Private School Register” foundation has recognized Sustainability Management School, in Gland Switzerland, as a member of their registry.
About Swiss Private School Register:
The Swiss Private School Register was founded on August 28, 2006 by the Swiss Federation of Private Schools SFPS (Berne), hotelleriesuisse (Berne) and the Foundation for the Advancement of the Rudolf Steiner School (Stiftung zur Förderung der Rudolf Steiner Pädagogik) in Switzerland (Schaffhausen) in collaboration with the most important Swiss trade associations. The purpose of the Register is to certify high standards of educational services and to demonstrate the integrity and credibility of the private schools listed in the register as well as to protect Switzerland’s reputation as a center for high-quality educational activity.

Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is a United States organization of degree-granting colleges and universities. It identifies its purpose as providing national advocacy for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation in order to certify the quality of higher education accrediting organizations, including regional, faith-based, private, career, and programmatic accrediting organizations.
The organization has approximately 3,000 academic institutions as members and currently recognizes approximately 60 accrediting organizations. CHEA is officially entitled to list accredited programs, including those at Sustainability Management School (SUMAS).

Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME)

Launched at the 2007 UN Global Compact Leaders Summit in Geneva, the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative is the largest organized relationship between the United Nations and business schools, with the PRME Secretariat housed in the UN Global Compact Office.

The mission of PRME is to transform management education, research and thought leadership globally by providing the Principles for Responsible Management Education framework, developing learning communities and promoting awareness about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
SUMAS is committed to the principles of PRME and produces every 2 years a report to demonstrate its actions for each item (view last report).

United Nations Global Compact

With the support of business and other stakeholders, the UN Global Compact’s governance framework was adopted by then UN Secretary-General Annan on 12 August 2005 following a year long international process co-led by Georg Kell, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact and Professor John Ruggie, then Special Advisor to the Secretary-General. That process included studying networked governance models of other cutting-edge global action and solution networks and holding focus groups with participants and stakeholders, including governments, local networks, and academics.

United Nations Global Compact – Switzerland

The Global Compact Network Switzerland is dedicated to the mission and objectives of the UNGC. We support and facilitate the Corporate Responsibility, Sustainability or Corporate Citizenship efforts of our Members. In collaboration with the Global Compact community worldwide we promote and contribute to such activities in Switzerland. As Global Compact Network Switzerland we also serve as an intermediary between our Members and the UN Global Compact Office in New York.

United Nations Global Compact – Russia

Russian business is beginning to actively take part in global initiatives that encourage socially responsible business, primarily through the UN Global Compact (UNGC). In 2008, participants of the Global Compact Network Russia (UNGC, Russia) carried out important structural and organizational changes, aimed to increase the effectiveness of the Russian local network’s activities.
On April 10th, 2008, in Moscow, more than 30 senior representatives of Russian companies met with UN Secretary-General Ban Kimoon, and declared their intention of starting a Russian local network of the UNGC, Russia.

Chambre Vaudoise du Commerce et de l’Industrie (CVCI)

This Chamber of Commerce was created more than 100 years ago and is a private self-funded association. For its members, the chamber organizes events and provides specific and personalized services. The Chamber represents the companies of the Canton within the Union Patronale Suisse. It also belongs to the broad international network of the Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

SUMAS as a member participates in the events where sustainability and business can be of importance, and shares with the other corporate members, the same willingness to grow the sustainability initiatives of the Canton.

THE R20 REGIONS OF CLIMATE ACTION

The R20 Regions of Climate Action is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and other global leaders in cooperation with the United Nations. The R20 is a coalition of partners led by regional governments that work to promote and implement projects that are designed to produce local economic and environmental benefits in the form of reduced energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions; strong local economies; improved public health; and new green jobs.
