Abstract

The agriculture input supply, manufacturing and distribution systems is currently changing and going through structural transformations due to the customer’s food needs and attitudes.

New technological advances at all levels are increasing governmental trade and policy regulations and having an impact on the farm production.

Awareness of these new developments and new directions are critical for strategic positioning and planning. The objective of my research is to provide a study of efficiency and sustainable management of vegetable supply chains structures in agriculture sector new technological advances at all levels are increasing governmental trade and policy regulations and having an impact on the farm production.

I will investigate the factors that contribute or impede the functionality of the agricultural supply chains, particularly vegetable supply chain design and management, sustainability and logistics efficiency of vegetable production, and processes along the whole food supply chain.

Main research question is to understand how factors such as Government trade policy and regulations, as well as extension activities have an impact on the development of effective and sustainable supply chain and its management.

Thus, additional relevant findings will be presented to thoroughly complete this investigation.

Biography

Elisa Miguel Nhamuave Matola is the Finance and Administrative Director at Higher Polytechnic Institute of Manica, a Public Institution for Higher Education in Manica Province in Mozambique, where she is responsible for coordinating and managing all the Finance, Human Resources and Administrative activities.

She is also a lecturer of Enterprises Administration and Management, Introduction to Logistics and Supply chain management modules and currently is also a member of the Gender Unit at ISPM. She has a Master´s degree in Business Management and is currently enrolled at the first year program for the Doctorate of Business Administration with Emphasis in Sustainability Management at SUMAS-Switzerland.

Before entering to ISPM in 2008, she was working at Decentralized Planning and Financial Project of the Ministry of Finances of Mozambique as an Accountant assistant.

At her free time she enjoys spending time with her two kids, watching TV and traveling.
