Dr. Modena has created in 2016 the SUMAS CrS® Programme.
She actively participates in the Overall Compliance of the SUMAS CrS® ‘Business and Sustainability’.

Lorenzo Ciserani

Head of Partnerships

As Head of Partnerships at the Sustainability Management School, Lorenzo Ciserani plays a pivotal role in building and nurturing strategic alliances that support the school’s mission to drive sustainable innovation in business and education. Lorenzo identifies and develops partnership opportunities that enhance experiential learning, research, and career pathways for students. With a strong focus on sustainability and impact ensuring that each collaboration reflects SUMAS’s values and contributes to shaping responsible leaders for a more sustainable future.

These professors contribute to the course content of the SUMAS CrS® in Business & Sustainability. They are specialized in the Applied Component pathways and teach courses in our Bachelor, Master and MBA programs at SUMAS. 

Pooja Nataraj Suryanarayana

Areas of Expertise: Brand Management,  Performance Marketing, Sustainability Reporting and Impact Communications.

Pooja Nataraj Suryanarayana is a seasoned professional with 15 years of experience in the fields of impact, brand management, and marketing communications. Currently based in Milan, Italy, she is deeply passionate about sustainability and the triple bottom line, constantly seeking practical solutions that prioritize people and the planet.

Jane Scaffidi Abbate

Areas of Expertise: Sustainable and Circular Fashion, Eco-Design and Responsible Innovation, University Lecturing and Curriculum Development, CLO3D and Digital Fashion Prototyping, Pattern Making and Tailoring, Public Speaking and Sustainability Advocacy

Jane is a fashion expert, educator, and author with a global background, specializing in sustainable and circular fashion. For the past eight years, she has been a university lecturer at top fashion institutions in Milan, guiding the next generation of designers toward eco-conscious fashion practices. 

Mark Farhart Giusti, Ph.D.

Areas of expertise: Sustainable Fashion Management and Circular Economy Integration, Fashion and Accessories Design, Material Sourcing, and Ethical Practices, Luxury Brand Development and Green Marketing Strategies, Sustainability by Design and responsible leadership, Community Engagement, Philanthropy, and Stakeholder Collaboration

Vanja Westerberg, Ph.D.

Areas of Expertise: Agricultural and Environmental Economics, Innovative Financing and Policy Instrument Design, Impact Evaluation and Cost-Benefit Analysis, Market and Non-Market Valuation, Corporate Sustainability

Dr. Vanja Westerberg is an environmental economist with over 10 years of experience in applied research, policy advisory, and international project management across Europe, Africa, South America, and the Middle East, focusing on sustainability-driven economic analysis. She is the co-founder of Altus Impact and has worked with leading research institutions and intergovernmental organizations, including IUCN and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. Vanja holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics and is fluent in Danish, English, and French.

Henri Gautier

Henri Gautier is a Professor at SUMAS, where he teaches Career Management, Personal Branding, and Leadership. With a background in banking and over 15 years of experience as a Managing Director and CEO in international, multicultural environments, he brings strong pragmatic insight into leadership, business development, and people management. As the founder of Titanium, Henri works as a consultant, trainer, and coach, helping individuals and organizations reach their aspirations through focused development of leadership, communication, sales, and self-awareness. He is a certified Insights® Discovery expert and works fluently in English and French.

Francini van Staden

Area of expertise: Sustainability leadership, Circular economy, Systems thinking, Sustainable procurement, Environmental impact assessment

Dr. Francini van Staden is a Professor, sustainability leader, and researcher with over 20 years of experience across environmental management, sustainability strategy, and circular economy. Holding a PhD, MSc, and MBA in Sustainability Management, she combines academic depth with real-world practice and has published with leading academic publishers including Elsevier and Taylor & Francis.
