“To me, a leader is someone who holds her- or himself accountable for finding potential in people and processes. And so, what I think is really important is sustainability.” – Brene Brown

Sustainability is a broad spectrum that covers the aspects of the future and the past. To master sustainability, instead of worrying about finishing high school online, you should not let the downfall of your past shadow the end. If you take a long look at history’s pitfalls, you will more than learn a few things. Only in those corners are hidden answers and the turn of events you should avoid nowadays.

However, looking at the flip side of the coin, you can also learn from past victories. The branch of sustainability is not only limited to personal success but for leadership skills. Regardless of you wanting to be an entrepreneur, C.E.O, Stockholder professor, or merely a good citizen, you will find tips for everything.

The purpose of looking over history is to create something that is not a repetition of mistakes but an additional successor to the past leaders. You want to develop skills that will stop you from making the same mistakes then read on to the collected pints that have been a trap for many.

  1. Turn your “could” into a solid “would”:

In a search led by the MIT institute, it was concluded that people are hesitant to step into something new. The fear of the unknown and failure always keeps them back. That is why often they mull over the imaginable situations with many “could.”

Looking at successful leaders of the present era, they are all those who took the bold step and now know where they stand. Even then, while advising, they make mistakes and learn every day. To develop strong leadership, you should have no doubts in your head. If you’re a confused leader, then the community and organization under you will doubt itself.

You will be surprised how a strong will can keep you running for a long time. If you fail once, that does not mean you should move away because it was not for you. Try till you are sure that you have turned your fears into a “would.”

Your mind will open up, and instead of mulling over small trivial mistakes, it will cover aspects you never thought possible. The defeats will seem like small dark spots in the blinding light of successful leadership.

  1. Encourage others in a masterful language:

Tomorrow when you go to work, instead of scolding someone for their mistake, turn that disapproval into encouragement and see the transforming results yourself. To lead a successful and unbeatable leadership, you should start will being humble. Add please and encourage people with powerful messages.

It would help if you experimented with it for once, though. Even if you are bad at something, and because of the expectations and encouragement, you naturally built an instinct never to fail again. You get addicted to the praise and admiration of people you are responsible for.

If you want to take everyone towards a common goal, then display your ideas in a way that is not daunting. Often people hesitate to join because of their insecurities. Talk to them and stop where it is required, so you should take equal steps with your team. Even if you are late, your success will be worth it.

  1. Be approachable to people:

For sustainability, you should pay heed to what people around you are telling you. If they do not like a point in your grand scheme, you should make a healthy debate instead of pushing them away. What if it is a real point, and due to your ignorance, you overlooked it, and it could appear as a thorn in the future.

Furthermore, even if it is not a valid point, you will clear someone misunderstanding away and grow a steadfast impression on them. It is a good leadership skill that the person thought you were approachable and open for discussion. Ignorance can create a lot of chaos in the long run. If you keep bottling up acceptable criticism, it will only act as a noose when you are at your lowest.

  1. Self-determination and Support:

People under you should view sustainability as an opportunity and a stepping stone. You cannot teach the community and employees support and determination if you do not have it. Shoe them that the effort they are putting is appreciated.

Will you place your doubts in a bet that is brittle and has no support? You see, that is precisely the opposite of sustainability, and you will avoid it at all costs. That is what your followers will think you disapprove of and appreciate them. They should step up to place their bets along with you!
